Jackie Hartwig is President and Owner of Bay Consulting, an independent consultancy specializing in manufacturing, importation, and distribution of children’s products.  Prior to forming her own practice, she spent 20 years working with some of the largest import/distribution organization in the family entertainment and amusement industry.  As Director of Merchandise for the past 14 years, she was responsible for the sourcing, safety testing, importing, and inventory management for multi-million dollar product lines consisting of several thousand products.

With the implementation of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, Jackie’s responsibility for the safety compliance mandated her expertise of this complex new law.  Jackie was immediately involved in several public meeting with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to provide public comments to assist the commission with interpretation.  She has attended and participated in international safety conferences and as a member of industry committees gained access to member congress and commission staff to discuss challenges imposed on industry by the CPSIA. 

Jackie became active in the education of the CPSIA to both large and small members of the amusement industry.

Objective

Bay Consulting provides systems and services to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing, procurement and inventory management for the small business segment of the consumer product market.

The primary focus is to simplify processes through technology, improve the tools necessary to achieve goals, and better utilize the resources to maximize efficiency and profitability.
